Spiced Roasted New Potatoes – Low Syn

Another tasty low-syn side dish recipe from my Slimming World Diet. Great with a roast or steak. I made a big batch of this and served the second half cold the next day with some grilled pork, though you could reheat them.IMG-20130312-01496

This recipe makes four portions at just ½ syn per portion. I used smoked paprika, celery salt and dried garlic, but you could use any spices you have or fancy.


New or salad potatoes – 2lb/1 kg (washed and cut into halves/thirds)

Olive oil spray – 28 sprays (2 syns)

Smoked paprika – 1 tablespoon

Celery salt – 1 teaspoon

Dried minced garlic – 1 teaspoon

Equipment: Colander, chopping board, knife, large pan of boiling water, baking dish, spoon


  1. Par-boil the potatoes for 10 minutes or so until tender.
  2. Drain and tip into the baking dish, spray with olive oil and stir to coat well.
  3. Sprinkle with seasoning and stir to coat well.
  4. Cook in a preheated oven (210°C/Fan 190°C/Gas 7) for 45 minutes to 1 hour until they’re crisp, golden and cooked through.
